Ice Rink - Click Here To Find Out What You Need To Know...

BOOKING

Booking in advance is the only way to guarantee entry to the Webbs ice rink for the skate session you require. You can book in-store at Webbs, Wychbold or at webbs.co.uk. It is possible to buy tickets on the day, however these are subject to availability.

SKATE IN ALL WEATHER

The ice rink has a clear roof covering the whole surface of the ice. This means you can skate in any weather and still enjoy the outdoor experience.

GROUPS & PARTIES

Our team have created a series of packages that help larger groups, including children's birthday parties, to enjoy the rink experience. Please call us on 01527 860000 or email icerink@webbs.co.uk

ARRIVING ON THE DAY

Our rink team will need to scan your booking barcode to allow you onto the ice. Please ensure you are able to show a copy of your confirmation email on your smartphone or tablet. Alternatively bring a printed copy of your booking confirmation email, including the barcode. If you are unable to do either of these please bring your booking reference number to the ice rink at the time of your session.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of your session to allow time to put your skates on in the skate exchange. Skaters arriving late for their session will not be given extra time on the ice.

CHILDREN

The ice rink is great fun for children.

Children 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult on the ice. One adult for every 3 under 8s.

We advise that 2-3 years is the minimum age for a toddler to go on the ice, dependent on the child’s ability to stand up and walk wearing our specialist children’s skates or if they can safely sit on a skate aid while an adult pushes them.

Our special children’s skates are free for toddlers and young children and strap over normal shoes to make skating easy and stable. These skates start at infant size 8 and go up to size 1.

For the safety of the child, babies CANNOT be carried on the ice while an adult skates.

Pushchairs are not allowed on the ice.

For small children bring elbow, knee pads and helmets if you have them.

SKATES

The skates we use on the ice are ice hockey type skates rather than figure skates as these are more comfortable for the general public. Our skates start at infant size 1 and go up to adult size 15. If you choose the wrong size to start with don’t worry, just go back to the skate exchange to ask for another size.

We advise you wear thicker socks than usual to add extra comfort to your skating.

Our special children’s skates are free for toddlers and young children and strap over normal shoes to make skating easy and stable. Bob skates start at infant size 8 and go up to size 1.

If you have your own skates feel free to bring them but the full ticket price will still apply.

CLOTHING WHEN YOU ARE SKATING

Warm and waterproof clothing is recommended, all skaters need to wear gloves and wearing thicker socks than usual will add extra comfort to your skating.

You may leave items with your shoes in the skate exchange while you skate but we kindly remind you that this is at your own risk and it is not advisable to leave high value items.

SKATE SESSIONS

Skate sessions are 45 minutes long, allowing time between sessions for the professional assessment of the ice and resurfacing to take place. This work between sessions ensures optimum skating conditions for everyone regardless of when you choose to visit.

ACCESSIBILITY

There is wheelchair access into the skate exchange and onto the ice. Please advise a skate marshal if you wish to use your wheelchair on the ice. One carer per wheelchair user will be admitted for just £3 for any session but this ticket can only be booked in-store.

SPECTATORS

The Christmas Café and rink viewing areas provide an excellent place to watch the crowds enjoying the ice. There is no cost to watch and we highly recommend the hot chocolate!

PLEASE NOTE: the Christmas Café closes an hour after the last skate session starts, eg, if you have booked for the 4pm skate session (which will end at 4.45pm), the Christmas Café will close at 5pm – you can of course visit the Christmas Café before your skate session starts.

SKATE AIDS

'Push along' penguin and 'sit on' banana skate aids are available for all sessions except the disco skate sessions. Skate aids cost £5 to hire and are available on a first come, first served basis. Skate aids are for use by one or two children, aged 8 or under, with penguin skate aids that are pushed along and banana skate aids that up to 2 children can sit on while an adult pushes.

LOST PROPERTY

If you accidently leave anything at the rink this will be taken to our Lost Property area at the main reception desk in the store.
